Abstract
In summary, if the MDG’s are to be addressed effectively, it is imperative that severe malnutrition be addressed at the international and national level, using strategies that work, and that additional resources are committed to improving hospital treatment and establishing community based rehabilitation programs.20 Many gaps still exist in our knowledge regarding the management of severe malnutrition at all levels. Until such time when research can fill these gaps, we will have to continue to use what guidelines have shown to produce positive results.
